UAE Commits $10 Billion Investment in Pakistan’s Thriving Economic Sectors

In a significant move, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged a hefty sum of $10 billion to fuel growth in Pakistan’s flourishing economic domains, as reported by WAM on Thursday.

The decision surfaced subsequent to a constructive dialogue between UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, held in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE’s official news agency highlighted the aim to “bolster the Pakistani economy, extend support, and foster bilateral cooperation.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a brief yet crucial visit to the UAE, with investment talks topping the agenda.

Accompanying PM Shehbaz were Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Syed Tariq Fatemi, according to state-run Radio Pakistan.

In the course of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed condolences for the recent losses within the Al Nahyan family, honoring late Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan and late Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The discussions encompassed various dimensions of bilateral ties, spanning political, economic, social, cultural, and defense sectors, as outlined by PTV.

Emphasizing the necessity to fortify existing partnerships, Shehbaz underlined the potential collaborations in information technology, renewable energy, and tourism sectors.

He also shed light on the government’s efforts to ensure socio-economic stability and foster investor confidence in Pakistan.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to executing investment agreements effectively, particularly in energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, and banking services, the Prime Minister conveyed gratitude for the UAE’s role in hosting a vast Pakistani diaspora.

The leaders engaged in dialogues on regional and global affairs of mutual interest, further strengthening ties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended a formal invitation to the UAE President for an official visit to Pakistan, which was warmly accepted, as per PTV reports.
