Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took the lead in inaugurating the LDA Avenue-1 Central Park in Lahore on Tuesday. This green space spans over 87 kanals of land and marks the beginning of a vision to transform Lahore into an eco-friendly residential city.
During the inauguration, Tahir Farooq, the Director General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), briefed the Chief Minister on various aspects of the Central Park Project. Alongside this project, discussions also revolved around the enhancement of the LDA Enforcement Squad and other pertinent issues.
The Chief Minister was informed about the innovative measures taken within LDA Avenue-1 Society to safeguard and enhance the environment. The Central Park of LDA Avenue-1 stands out as a pioneer park model, featuring amenities such as a jogging track, walkways, a children’s play area, an open gym, and a badminton court. Additionally, the park houses a cafeteria, a mosque, and a rose garden.
To illuminate the park’s pathways, solar street lights have been installed, while designated vending points offer convenient access to food items. The park also boasts facilities for rainwater harvesting and cycling. Notably, a model cemetery has been constructed within the premises.
During her visit, the Chief Minister inspected the LDA Avenue-1 vending points, where fresh fruits and vegetables were available for purchase from neatly designed carts. Expressing satisfaction, she promised to revisit the arrangements in the future. Furthermore, she personally oversaw the upgraded LDA enforcement squad and handed over new bikes to its members.
