The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), effective from August 1.
This hike has been detailed in a notification issued by the regulatory authority.
According to the notification, the price of LPG has been raised by Rs 2.27 per kilogram. Consequently, the new price for LPG has been set at Rs 236.99 per kilogram. This adjustment has also affected the cost of domestic LPG cylinders, with a notable increase of Rs 26.90.
The notification specifies that the revised price for an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder of LPG is now Rs 2,796.56. In comparison, the price for a domestic cylinder in July was Rs 2,769.66, marking a significant increment.
This price hike is expected to impact households and small businesses that rely on LPG for cooking and heating. The increase comes amid rising concerns over the affordability of essential commodities, as the general public faces inflationary pressures on multiple fronts.
OGRA’s decision to raise LPG prices aligns with the global trends in energy markets, where fluctuations in supply and demand continue to influence domestic pricing strategies. The authority has urged consumers to remain aware of the changes and plan their usage accordingly.
