Types of IELTS Tests Available
1. IELTS Academic Test:
The IELTS Academic test is for those students who wish to pursue their undergraduate or graduate study in any country where the widely communicated language is English. It is also compelled for professionals who want to work in an English speaking country. This test tests the employability of academic language and comprises acquiring the skills required for writing essays, understanding complex reading matter, and expression skills in the academy.
2. IELTS General Training Test:
Designed for those intending to pursue below degree level courses, seeking employment in an English speaking environment or moving to countries such as the UK, Canada and Australia, IELTS General Training tests the candidate’s general training skills as encountered in real life. It is normally taken by candidates seeking jobs or immigration purposes.
Fee Structure Revised
The British Council has not yet announced the fee for November 2024. However, this should normally mirror the previous years, although with slight adjustments for inflation and other business considerations. Prospective applicants are thus advised to visit the British Council’s official website or contact local test centers for current information on fees.
