In a move set to revolutionise the smartphone experience, Apple is preparing to launch its highly anticipated iPhone 16 series this fall.
The latest addition to Apple’s flagship lineup promises to introduce unprecedented levels of personalisation and customisation, making each device uniquely tailored to its user. This significant update was reported by Forbes and detailed further by noted iPhone analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
In the lead-up to the phone’s release, Apple will unveil the iOS 18 software, which will power the new devices. Gurman revealed that the new operating system will allow users to alter the appearance of their home screens in ways previously unimaginable. For the first time since the iPhone’s debut in 2007, users will be able to change the color of app icons and rearrange them freely, moving away from the traditional grid layout that has defined the iPhone’s interface for over a decade.
“The iPhone home screen will be completely different,” Gurman stated. “Users will be able to change the color of app icons and position them wherever they want. Imagine turning all your social media icons blue or your finance-related apps green. This level of customisation will make every iPhone appear drastically different from how it currently does.”
The June 10 unveiling event is also expected to highlight significant advancements in artificial intelligence. One of the standout features will be the introduction of AI-generated emojis. Apple is reportedly developing software that can create custom emojis on the fly, tailored to the context of user messages.
“Generative AI will bring a new dimension to emojis,” Gurman noted. “The software will allow for the creation of custom emojis based on users’ texts, offering a fresh and dynamic range of expressions beyond the existing catalogue.”
