Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has reacted to the showcause notice received from the Pakistan Cricket Board following comments of the 34-year-old cricketer on the social networking site in which he claimed Babar Azam as his friend and fellow cricketer.
Sources suggest that in his response, Zaman said that Babar Azam is his friend and fellow cricketer. “There was no intention to scoff at the PCB or anybody else by coming in the favor of Babar Azam.”
I am a centrally contracted player and I get salary. I have talked only about Babar Azam’s cricket. I feel that opportunity should have been given to Babar Azam in this difficult time too.”
“The purpose of writing my statement was not to leave the PCB angry but to express my thoughts,” Zaman said.
“PCB is our institution which we respect and would keep on respecting,” he replied to the PCB.
