Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir issued a stern warning to those seeking to create chaos in Pakistan, asserting, “By Allah, we will stand before him.”
Speaking at the National Ulema Convention in the federal capital, General Munir emphasized the need for societal moderation and the rejection of corruption.
In his address, General Munir highlighted the gravity of corruption, describing it as “the greatest crime in the eyes of Allah.”
He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to curbing violence and unrest, aligning their efforts with divine directives. “We do not consider those who do not adhere to Shariat and the Constitution as Pakistanis,” he declared.
The Army Chief also acknowledged Pakistan’s long-standing hospitality towards Afghan refugees, stressing that Pakistan has hosted millions for over four decades. He urged Afghan refugees to refrain from opposing their neighboring Islamic country and long-time ally. General Munir commended the sacrifices made by the Pakhtun community and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism.
Addressing the issue of extremism, General Munir emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and denounced the backing of terrorism by criminal and smuggling mafias. He pointed out the role of social media in spreading anarchy and asserted that no one has the authority to disrespect the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
General Munir reinforced the resilience of Pakistan, asserting that the country is built to last and that millions of individuals, including politicians and scholars, are dedicated to its stability. He urged scholars and religious leaders to foster tolerance and unity while rejecting extremism and discrimination. He stressed that Western civilization should not be considered an ideal and encouraged pride in Pakistan’s cultural heritage.
Reflecting on historical and contemporary issues, General Munir pointed out the ongoing partition of Kashmir as an unresolved agenda and expressed profound sorrow over the suffering in Palestine and Gaza. He called for self-protection and national strength, drawing lessons from the plight of Palestine.
