Renowned Pakistani actress Nimra Khan – known for her recent role in Geo TV’s Ramzan drama serial Umme Ayesha – has revealed a terrifying experience where she narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt.
The incident has not only shaken the actress but also sparked a debate on the worsening law and order situation in the country.
In an emotional video posted on her Instagram, where she has a following of 3.8 million, Nimra Khan recounted the harrowing details of the incident. “Yesterday, I was standing near Ramada, waiting for my car when three men approached me. They tried to kidnap me at gunpoint,” she said, visibly distressed.
Khan shared that despite the presence of bystanders, no one came to her aid as the men attempted to drag her into their vehicle. “I had to fight for my own protection. I pushed one of them and ran towards a passing car, which stopped and saved me,” she added.
Khan also voiced her frustration and fear over the lack of safety for women in Pakistan. “How can I say that I am safe in this country where I am a taxpayer? We need protection in Pakistan. I can say I am a proud Muslim, but a proud Pakistani? No!” she lamented.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from her followers and fellow celebrities, who expressed their outrage and support for Khan. Many have echoed her concerns about the safety of women in Pakistan, particularly in the wake of such incidents becoming increasingly common.
Nimra Khan’s ordeal has once again highlighted the urgent need for stronger measures to ensure the safety and security of women across the country, as the law and order situation continues to deteriorate.
