Karachi: Officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have arrested a man, coming from Lahore, outside the US Consulate in Karachi who was submitting bogus documents to obtain a US visa.
Official said the national was using forged documents related to a cricket club for obtaining the visa when the authorities came to know that the documents were forged.
It was disclosed by the sources that the suspect purchased this fake documentation through an agent named Sajjad, which came at a price of a hefty 32,000 UAE dirhams, amounting to approximately PKR 450,000. There were no clear answers from the suspect upon questioning about the authenticity of the paperwork.
The quick action by the FIA was meant to prevent the visa scam and prevent the dignity of the process of applying and the further exposures of the agent and the network that masterminded the scam.
